This Privacy Policy explains how True Tales (also published as "True Tales Studio"; "we", "us", "our") handles information when you visit truetales.algologylabs.com (the "Website") or interact with our videos on YouTube, Instagram, X and other platforms (together, the "Channels"). True Tales is operated by Algology Labs, India.

In short: this Website has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no advertising trackers and no analytics cookies. We do not sell personal information. Our YouTube API access is used only to publish videos to our own channel.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the contents of your message. We use these only to reply to you and keep a record of the conversation.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider (Hostinger) keeps standard server logs when you load a page. These can include your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. They are used to keep the Website secure and working, and are kept for a limited period under the hosting provider's retention rules.

The Website loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests a font, Google receives your IP address and browser details under the Google Privacy Policy.

Cookies

The Website does not set its own cookies and does not use analytics or advertising cookies. If you follow a link to YouTube, Instagram or X, those services may set their own cookies under their own policies.

2. Our social media Channels

When you watch, like, comment on or subscribe to our videos, that activity happens on the platform you are using, under that platform's privacy policy. We can see public information the platform shows us, such as your public username, profile picture and comments, along with aggregated statistics such as views, watch time and audience reports. Platforms do not give us your contact details or private account data.

3. YouTube API Services

True Tales uses the YouTube API Services (the YouTube Data API) to upload our own long-form videos, set their thumbnails, titles, descriptions and release times, and read basic information and statistics about our own channel. By using our channel you are also bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

• Whose data: the API is authorised only for the True Tales Google account. We do not ask viewers to sign in, and we do not access any viewer's Google or YouTube account.
• What we access: our own channel's videos, upload settings and aggregated channel statistics.
• Storage: the access token is kept privately on our own computer and is never published or shared. We do not store viewer data obtained from the API.
• Sharing: we do not sell or share any data obtained through the YouTube API Services.
• Revoking access: any Google account owner can review and remove third-party access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

We also use social media scheduling services to publish short trailers to our own YouTube, Instagram and X accounts. These services act only on accounts we own.

4. People who appear in our stories

Our videos describe real events, which means they mention real people. We use only information that has already been published, such as court rulings, news reports, books and public records, and we list our sources. If you are a person named in one of our stories, or a relative, and you want to ask for a correction, the removal of a detail, or for a name to be withheld, email us. We review every such request carefully, especially for victims and their families.

5. How we use information

• To reply to messages, corrections and requests you send us.
• To publish, schedule and improve our videos, using aggregated, non-identifying statistics.
• To keep the Website and Channels secure and to prevent abuse.
• To meet legal obligations.

6. Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us run the Website and Channels (such as our web host, email provider and publishing tools), when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

7. Retention

We keep emails for as long as needed to deal with your request and for reasonable record-keeping afterwards. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited time. You can ask us to delete your messages at any time.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to how we use it. To make a request, email us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days. To delete comments or other activity on YouTube, Instagram or X, use the settings of that platform.

9. Children

Our videos cover real crimes and are not made for children. This Website is not directed at anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

The Website is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable steps to protect the information and credentials we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when they are posted on this page, and the date at the top will show when it was last updated.
